Elika Anne Hemphill
09/27/67 – 11/07/08

Elika was a mother, wife, daughter and friend.  In her 41 years, she made countless friends and had more impact with her charm, wit, grace, generosity and style than most can hope for in 100 years.  Elika died with her mother and husband at her side on November 7, 2008.

As only child, it was up to Elika to craft and hone a “sisterhood” of girlfriends that made her world a special one.  Elika had a sparkle about her and the looks of a classic beauty – things that would catch anyone’s attention.  But it was her incredibly generous and thoughtful heart, her loving soul, her gift with crafting the written word, and her desire to accept all people that made her truly shine.

Elika leaves behind a valiant husband and three wonderful children.  She lovingly encouraged her children to be themselves and explore all sorts of sports, crafts, music, games and foods.  She adored them all equally and impressed upon them that all were part of an amazing family.  Then she’d wink and whisper “but you are my favorite” to each individually to make sure that Leo, Gus and Daphne knew how special each was.

The Friends of Elika hope that you will join us in supporting this young family as they make their way without their special mom.
